A grant may fund a large share of your solar project. Most business owners never find out.

The USDA Rural Energy for America Program funds renewable energy projects for eligible rural small businesses and agricultural producers. We have taken commercial customers through it before - and we will tell you honestly, for free, whether your business is likely to qualify.

The part nobody explains

The grant, in plain terms.

Not a discount, not financing. A federal programme that funds part of a renewable energy project for businesses that qualify - and qualifying is narrower and more specific than most people assume.

What it is

USDA Rural Energy for America Program

  • Supports renewable energy for eligible rural businesses and agricultural producers
  • Applications run to published windows, not all year round
  • Eligibility depends on location, business type and size
  • We have taken commercial customers through it before
What we do about it

Tell you early, then handle the technical side

  • An honest answer on whether you are likely to qualify
  • The technical documentation the application needs
  • A system designed to fit the programme, not the other way round
  • Kept to the deadline so a window is not missed
We are solar installers, not grant consultants, and we do not decide who receives funding. What we can do is tell you quickly whether it is worth your time - which is more than you get from a firm that has never handled one.
No cost, no obligation

Find out whether your business could qualify.

Four questions and a phone call. If the answer is no, you will hear that on the first call rather than after a site visit and a proposal.

Or call (603) 512-3377 and speak to a NABCEP certified installer directly. If your business is unlikely to qualify we will say so rather than sell you something else.

Commercial solar.

The buildings where the numbers work best are the ones using most of their power during daylight - which is most working businesses.

Farms & agriculture

Barns, packhouses and equipment sheds, with large unshaded roof area already in place.

  • Irrigation, ventilation and cold storage loads
  • The business type REAP was designed for
  • Work scheduled around your season

Light industrial

Manufacturing, workshops and warehousing, where daytime load matches generation closely.

  • Roof or ground mount depending on structure
  • Phased so production is not interrupted
  • Designed around your actual usage profile

Commercial premises

Retail, hospitality, offices and food service - solar PV and solar hot water.

  • Designed in-house by NABCEP certified installers
  • One point of contact, survey to commissioning
  • Nothing subcontracted to a sales outfit
Installed by someone who is no longer there

If the company that fitted your solar has gone, we will still look after it.

Seventeen of the firms whose systems we service have closed or stopped supporting their own customers. Their arrays did not stop needing attention. We pick them up.

Orphaned systems

Your installer is out of business, the warranty contact is a dead phone number, and nobody local will touch somebody else's workmanship.

  • We take on systems we did not install
  • Inverter faults, monitoring and output problems
  • Any manufacturer, any age of array

Roof replacement under panels

National outfits fitted arrays to roofs that were already near the end of their life. Five years on the roof needs doing and no roofer will work around the panels.

  • Panels removed, roof done, panels refitted and recommissioned
  • Co-ordinated with your roofer, or we will find one
  • System tested and signed off on the way back

Inverter replacement

An array lasts decades. The inverter does not, and a failed one means you are generating nothing while you wait.

  • Diagnosis before replacement, not instead of it
  • Straight swap or a change of platform, whichever is sounder
  • Monitoring set back up so you can see it working

Why we are the ones still doing this

We have been installing in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and southern Maine since the beginning, and we service what we did not sell. The larger firms have moved towards utility-scale work and away from looking after individual systems. Somebody has to, and it may as well be the people who have been here longest.

How it runs, start to finish.

The grant question comes first, because it changes everything after it.

  • Move it where buyers actually look

What business owners ask first.

What actually is the REAP grant?

A USDA programme supporting renewable energy projects for eligible rural small businesses and agricultural producers. Eligibility depends on location, business type and size, and applications run to published windows rather than all year.

How do I know if we are eligible?

Ask us and we will tell you early and for free. The main factors are where the business sits, what it does and its size. We would rather tell you no on the first call than after a survey.

Do you do the grant application for us?

We are installers, not grant consultants. We produce the technical documentation the application needs and keep you to the deadline. We do not decide who receives funding.

What if we do not qualify?

Then we look at whether the project stands up on its own without it. Sometimes it does. If it does not, we will say so.

What does NABCEP certification actually mean?

It is the recognised North American certification for solar PV installers. It separates firms that install from firms that sell and subcontract.

Do you work outside New Hampshire?

Yes - New Hampshire, Massachusetts and southern Maine.

This is Mock-up 2

The $2,500 option.

Everything in the $1,500 version, plus the orphan systems, the roof removal-and-refit work and the inverter service on the customers you already have. Those three are the extra $1,000, and they are the parts that need no advertising spend.
